Diagnostics North East (DxNE) provides a unique joined up infrastructure for industry and academia across the Newcastle Health Research Partnership footprint.

As an umbrella organisation, DxNE exists as a partnership between two of Newcastle Health Research Partnership’s leading anchor organisations – Newcastle University and The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Originally established in 2017, DxNE was created to realise opportunities which were not being met by groups working in isolation.

Our Vision – To develop the North East of England as a leader in clinical diagnostics, through research and innovation.

Our Mission – To accelerate the development of innovative diagnostics in the United Kingdom through collaborative working. Supporting our partner organisations to maximise research impact for patient benefit and driving economic growth.

Our Purpose – is underpinned by three key values – to collaborate, to co-create innovations which exceed our individual capabilities, and to celebrate our region, driving inward investment and economic growth.
