Newcastle Health Research Partnership Strategic Plan Launch

Newcastle Health Research Partnership has launched its Strategic Plan for 2025-28.

Set up in 2020 as an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC), the partnership has focused on collaborative research, innovation, education, and training. Five years on, it is launching its new strategy for 2025-2028 to build on the collective strength of partners and continue in its mission to enhance population health, reduce health inequalities and drive economic prosperity.

Newcastle Health Innovation Partners (NHIP) has also updated its name to Newcastle Health Research Partnership, to reinforce its historical and future emphasis on research, whilst continuing its mission to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities through research-driven solutions.

Prof David Burn, NHIP Director, said: “While our name has been refreshed, our partnerships and objectives are stronger than ever and remain unchanged. We continue to be committed to advancing health research through collaboration and our new name better aligns with our mission and vision, whilst signifying our unwavering commitment to research as the cornerstone of our efforts.

Prof Burn added: “Our strategy is designed to build on our past successes as our strategic priorities have always focused on our key areas of Research, Education and Training. Having established a team, we are now ready to also add Public Partnerships as a Strategic Objective, to build on our work and strengths in this area.

“Every member of our partnership plays a critical role in the success of our new Strategic Plan. We are also mindful of changes to the regional landscape and Newcastle Health Research Partnership will work closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure we effectively drive improvements in collaboration for the benefit of patients in our area. We very much look forward to working together in collaboration in the months and years ahead. “
