Helping you navigate research support across the North East and North Cumbria

Research infrastructure can feel complex, especially if you’re new to the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), new to research or simply unsure where to start.

Across the North East and North Cumbria (NENC), a range of NIHR-funded organisations work together to support health and care research, but understanding who does what – and how to engage with them – isn’t always straightforward.

Newcastle Health Research Partnership (NHRP) have developed a new resource to make this easier to navigate.

NHRP have created an interactive online guide that brings together all NIHR infrastructure hosted in the NENC, helping you to:

  • Understand the purpose and role of each organisation
  • See how the different parts of the infrastructure fit together
  • Know who to contact and when, depending on your needs

This resource is for:

  • NIHR infrastructure colleagues looking to understand and signpost across the wider system
  • Early career researchers who are new to research
  • Established researchers wanting to better understand available support
  • Local authority colleagues exploring or developing research activity
  • Members of the public interested in getting involved in research

This activity is being coordinated by NHRP, working closely with colleagues from across the NENC NIHR infrastructure.
