Our support
Newcastle Health Research Partnership Academy works with a wide range of methodology experts across quantitative and qualitative disciplines (including, epidemiology, trials, statistics, health economics, data science and AI, social and behavioural sciences) to support our future national and international research leaders.
The Academy helps methodologists to access research training opportunities – principally from the NIHR, but increasingly for other funders at all stages from Masters onwards. We are developing novel approaches to integrating research training into broader career development opportunities.
We contribute to fellowship funding panels and directly mentor and supervise talented individuals across the whole career pathway. From internships and pre-doctoral awards to doctoral, post-doctoral and ultimately to professorial awards.

Monisha Dabbara joined Newcastle Health Research Partnership (NHRP) Academy as a data intern, after completing her MSc in Data Science at Newcastle University. Her work with the NHRP focussed on analysis of individuals’ journeys through the NHRP across 10 years, offering insight into the NHRP’s impact over time.
