Kat’s internship focus and aims

My internship will allow me the protected time to conduct a literature search to explore whether preventative pelvic health education is acceptable and feasible in young women age 18-30? This will allow me to produce a scoping review which will map existing literature, clarify definitions, determine the feasibility of a full systematic review, and inform future research. I will also use this time to build some experience in PPIE and develop my own consultation. My focus is preventative pelvic health education which aligns with the Renewed Women’s Health Strategy for England and NHS Long term plan focus on prevention. I aim to explore whether preventative pelvic health education is acceptable, feasible, and has the potential to reduce downstream morbidity. I feel very fortunate and grateful to have some protected time to allow me to conduct some preliminary research, receive academic support and mentorship, and connect with like minded clinicians who are embarking on their own research journeys
