Grace’s internship focus and aims

My internship is focused on developing a practical understanding of clinical research by shadowing Clinical Trials Pharmacy teams, Research Delivery teams, Associate Principal Investigators, and other professionals involved in research delivery. The aim is to explore how research is designed and delivered within the NHS, while helping me find the career pathway best suited to me. This is why I selected the Stepping into Research internship pathway. The main themes include clinical trial pharmacy processes such as IMP management, dispensing, accountability, study feasibility, governance, and multidisciplinary collaboration. I will also complete NIHR modules, GCP-refresher course, and RPS research modules to strengthen my knowledge. Planned attendance at research events will further support my development A key challenge will be fitting all activities into the 30-day internship period. I am particularly looking forward to shadowing experienced research teams and delivering a pharmacy research engagement evaluation event.
