Join us for an informative session designed for researchers interested in applying for the Wellcome Career Development Awards. This event will provide an in-depth overview of the scheme, offering valuable insights into its objectives, eligibility criteria, and funding priorities.
The session will be held by Sophie Hawkesworth. Sophie is a Senior Manager for Clinical Discovery Research at Wellcome. She is responsible for supporting clinical research within the Discovery portfolio including considering how Wellcome can best support clinical academics in their research careers. With an academic background in population health research, Sophie has been at Wellcome for over 8 years and throughout this time has been involved in teams that support the open mode funding process. In her current role, Sophie sits on the Population & Public Health shortlisting panel and the Career Development Awards interview panel. In this session Sophie will provide information and insights into the Discovery Research funding schemes and assessment process with a particular focus on the Career Development Awards.
