Navigating Intersectionality & Public Involvement

Conducting research alongside marginalised groups may bring issues of power and privilege to the foreground, and there may also be some cultural twists and turns to navigate.

In this session Dr Mark Adley and two of the public contributors involved in his funded PhD will share some of their experiences of working together. In addition to exploring issues around identity and intersectionality, there will also be discussion about possible bias embedded into existing study designs, and what additional steps we might need to consider in order to make space in our research for the quietest voices.
