Applications open for the second cohort of the NIHR North East and North Cumbria Health and Care Professionals Internship Programme
Following the success of the first cohort, NHRP are delighted to open applications for the second cohort of its Health and Care Professionals Internship Programme. Funded by NIHR and co-hosted with Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW), the programme is designed to support registered health and care professionals in developing vital research skills to improve care across the region.

NHRP-supported innovation recognised as Dr Ben Hood receives national NIHR prize
Dr Ben Hood, Cancer Research Nurse Consultant at Newcastle Hospitals and Chair of the National Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC) Research Nursing Steering Committee, has received a prestigious NIHR Research Delivery Leaders Prize.
The award recognises his national leadership in cancer research delivery and a range of innovations developed through Newcastle’s research community, including a research nursing e-learning programme supported by Newcastle Health Research Partnership that is now used across the UK.
Meet Dr Megan Brown
Dr Megan Brown, has been awarded a prestigious National Institute for Heath and Care Research (NIHR) Postdoctoral Award to lead a programme of research exploring disabled doctors’ career progression within the NHS.
